How we work
Consultation
During
our consultation with you we will establish:
- Your
business information needs
- The information you already have that can be
transferred into a new database
- How you would like your information reports
presented
- How new information will be collected and
entered in the new database
This consultation is best achieved at the client’s
premises where we can see how your business operates.
We will need to understand the ‘big picture’ of
your enterprise and we will need to explore the details
that make your business work.
Proposal

4 Report will provide a proposal giving an
outline plan for the new database and an estimate
for its preparation and installation, including
any training required by your staff.
Support
When a project has been completed Click
4 Report will provide ongoing support and development
for 3 months. For long term
support a contract will be offered.

Technical Information
We generally build our relational databases in Microsoft
Access as many businesses already use Microsoft Office
for documents and spreadsheets and are therefore
familiar with Microsoft applications.
We design our databases following methodology pioneered
by Michael J Hernandez (a Microsoft Program Manager
for the Developer Tools team). Specific advantages
to this approach to Relational Database design are;
built-in multilevel integrity, logical and physical
data independence from database applications, guaranteed
data consistency and accuracy and easy data retrieval.

We are prepared to use other database applications
if required by the client and we have associates who
are able to bring expertise in specific areas to our
tasks.
We will provide specific operating instructions for
any database we deliver to a client and we will provide
training for staff operating the database.
We will offer a support contract (renewable annually)
to monitor and maintain a database we have designed
and installed. |
